SO MUCH WORK!
So at least I have a job, and at some point I hope to receive a paycheck, but Jesus H. Christ, this job is sucking all the hours out of my life. I haven't been OUT unless it involved the need to consume food, I haven't watched TV, I haven't read a BOOK for crying out loud, this was supposed to get BETTER after college and it's like 10 times the work.

I prefer to be the student. Sadly, nobody will pay me to do that.

So, that's my grand complaint for the day.

In other news, Tommy is sick, but does not have strep. Perhaps it's the Czechoslovakian crud that Jes has? I dunno, but the poor thing is losing his voice. (Not a completely sad event for me, but sad for him anyway.)

My mother's car caught on fire the other day, which was a tad frightening.

My ex-husband is in jail for:
1. Drinking and driving
2. Open beer can in the truck
3. Driving with a suspended license (second offense)
4. Two unpaid speeding tickets
5. No insurance
6. No registration
7. Not showing up to court for #'s 3, 4, 5 and 6

He has a $51,000 bail and a court date on October 26 or 27 for:
8. Two counts of indecent liberties with a child (11-year old girl)
9. Child endangerment
10. Hiding from the police when he knew there were warrants for #'s 8 and 9

While he is in jail, his first ex-wife and I, the second ex-wife, will both be serving him with court action in regard to
11. Not paying his child support
12. Purposely working for cash to avoid garnishment of his paychecks.

We could'nt serve him his court papers before because when he allegedly touched the 11-year old, his wife left him and he went into hiding in Charlotte or something.

It looks like he'll be there a while unless he can get the third wife to bail him out of jail, which is a pretty slim chance since the 11-year old girl is her daughter.

Could'nt have happened to a nicer guy.

Woah.
I've never been happier to hear someone I kind of know is in jail. Do you think he really did the thing with the girl? Two counts?
Woah.
It's comforting to know that your life is just as fucked as mine.
Um...
Re: teaching.
a) It will continue to eat your soul at least until next semester when you have semiworking lesson plans. I can't imagine how you even do it with kids.
b) If you want to talk to me about anything, we can get together (for food? with kids? ) at your convenience, just call me, 854-8193, if there's anything I can do to help.
Hang in there,
Maile

Thanks Maile, I been meaning to call and talk to you about the teaching thing. We can definitely get togther for food, and yes, everything I do has the kids there since their dad's an idiot and Gustavo works out of town: I'm it. :o( And tired. I am way behind with planning: planning tonight for tomorrow, with a very vague plan, not necessarily written on a lesson plan form as it should be...AND I am about as disorganized as a person can be. PLUS, I do not have a ROOM, and my three classes (on three different LEVELS of Spanish of course, thus three lesson plans per day instead of one) are in three different rooms, in different buildings, so I am SUCH a bag lady, and heavy-laden with books/copy paper/and anything else I need...mostly poorly prepared and winging it in a big way. If I could get ahead of plans and get more organized, that'd be grand. In March they say I'll have a room. So how about next Tuesday or Thursday for dinner at Elizabeth's on Summit?

Oh and about the ex-husband--knowing him like I know him, I wouldn't put it past him. He probably at least tried something. She's only 11 and I seriously doubt she'd make it up because she seemed to adore him from what I could tell.

So hse said it happened. Then it probably did. Well, I'm glad his wife believed her and took immediate appropriate action. Gives you respect for her, anyway.
love & stuff
